ministry teams

God's mission through the Vineyard Church is to produce world changers and world-changing churches who are 100% devoted to Jesus, each other, and others in the world.

At the Vineyard Church, our Ministry Teams are the place where we express our devotion to others in the world together, and we invite everyone to serve according to their gifting and availability. • Baking Team

The Baking Team provides baked goods, homemade or store bought, for our weekend services. Children and adults alike love the delicious variety of our Sunday morning snacks, and baked goods help us provide a warm welcome into our community of faith. Baking team members provide food on a rotating basis for Sunday mornings.

  • Benevolence Team

Our church’s Benevolence Team helps support the basic needs of members of our church family and the larger community. We help with things like rent, utilities, medical expenses, groceries, and other basic needs. In the past two years, the scope of our benevolence mission has expanded to include a food pantry that is open to all each Wednesday afternoon and every third Saturday afternoon. Team members may serve by responding to benevolence requests, serving at the food pantry on the days it’s open, or helping out behind the scenes.

  • Building Team

The building team works behind the scenes to maintain the safety and appearance of the inside and outside of our church as a welcoming space. Our building has ongoing needs for upkeep, and during each of the four seasons the outside of the church has to be cared for weekly. The team doesn’t meet formally; instead, members gravitate to their area of gifting whether it’s doing touch-up repairs, installing or assembling something, or working on the lawn or garden.

  • Dance Ministry

We seek to worship the Lord with our whole being in both song and dance! Members of the dance ministry serve on Sunday mornings as they are able to help lead the congregation in worship and praise.

  • Hospitality Team

The Hospitality Team serves at weekend services to provide a warm welcome into our community of faith. Hospitality team members serve on a rotating basis to set up, greet people with a smile, and put things back in order after service.

  • HOTS (Healing on the Streets) Team

Our HOTS prayer team seeks to come alongside those in need of spiritual, emotional, and physical healing through prayer and encouragement. Currently, our HOTS team regularly ministers at the Food Pantry on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

  • Ignite Ministry Team

At the Vineyard, we prioritize raising up the next generation of disciples to be world changers for Christ. The Ignite Ministry Team accomplishes this with our middle school youth through weekly meetings which include Biblical teaching, community building activities, and group discussions.

  • Intercession Team

Our heart is to see a powerful move of God in the lives of people around us and God transforming us through intercession, for us to love him and to love our neighbors well. We meet regularly to pray over Zoom and in-person at the church. You can also be a part of this ministry by praying for various needs in the life of our church and our members by signing up to receive e-mail communications.

  • Justice & Reconciliation Team

The Justice and Reconciliation Team (JRT) exists to fulfill the mandate of Scripture to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God. The team serves alongside our three proximate justice partners in Chicagoland to provide opportunities for our church to engage in hands-on justice work, alongside championing the cause of justice in the larger church. Our three current initiatives are Reclaim 13, the Vineyard Justice Center, and partnering with Chaplain Eric Peng at the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center.

  • Missions Support Team

Our church is grateful to be a part of 4 global missions partnerships and support 7 missionaries who minister both locally and globally. The Missions Support Team meets quarterly to pray for and support our current mission partners and consider new support requests.

  • Prayer Ministry Team

We believe God meets with us as we come to him in prayer. Our prayer ministry team comes alongside members of the congregation during worship to pray for God's blessings and work in our lives. Prayer ministry team members receive training and serve according to their availability at weekend services.

  • Tech Team

The Tech Team seeks to facilitate our encounters with God through our services in a variety of ways. Tech Team members serve 1-2 times per month to run sound, media, or the camera, and training is provided.

  • UpLift Team

UpLift is our ministry where high school teens are welcomed, cared for, and uplifted as we learn more about Jesus and become world changers who are 100% devoted to him. UpLift team members have a front row seat to support these young people as they explore God, faith, and the real-life issues that teens face every day, from navigating relationships to studying for exams. Opportunities to serve include leading a discussion series for UpLift or joining in on Sunday meetings.

  • VineKidz Team

VineKidz is a kid-centered environment and ministry where it’s all about connecting the hearts of kids to Jesus! The VineKidz Team partners with families in developing children in their faith walk and spiritual gifts. Team members serve once or twice a month as small group leaders to lead games, organize crafts, and ask discussion questions on the weekly Bible story to get kids thinking about how it applies to their lives.

  • Worship Team

One of the ways we encounter and experience God is through worship. The worship ministry team leads the church in worshipping God as we grow in devotion to Jesus. Worship team members serve on a rotating basis and meet for weekend practice in addition to serving during Sunday morning services.
