Racial Reconciliation Life Group
Weekly on Tuesdays @ 7:15 PM
The purpose of this life group is to effect racial conciliation in and out of the group and to pursue active solidarity with the marginalized and oppressed in our communities. We do this by learning and engaging in discussion about issues related to the racialization of the U.S. church and society. This quarter, we will read and discuss Divided by Faith: Evangelical Religion and the Problem of Race in America by Michael O. Emerson and Christian Smith. This book helps to illuminate the historic and current struggles of non-white people to achieve parity in the systems and institutions of the dominant white culture, including the church. We will spend one night per month producing video clips on racial injustice for use in our church by the Racial Reconciliation and Justice Ministry. The group will happily welcome new members for its first two meetings but will be “closed” thereafter, so that trust and candid discussion can begin and build as the quarter progresses. We will meet on Tuesdays in Hyde Park.

Rubin Life Group
Weekly on Thursdays at 7:30 PM2
We will seek to grow in our relationships with God and with one another as we gather for worship, Bible study and prayer each week. We will try to read the scripture passages (1-2 chapters) throughout the week before each meeting, so as to allow for more in-depth application and study time.
